Thanks to Rob Schmidt: Great show as usual. I was up on the bar center stage, directly in front of Scott. Got a ton of great pictures and a few videos that I'm uploading now (Cinnamon, Dancing Days, Still Remains). The band was in sync and was having lots of fun- Scott and Dean were bumping each other (at one point I thought Dean was being serious, but Scott was hysterical). The jams were sick, but definitely would have loved to see another song or two. Crowd was kinda mellow and Dean shouted it out a few times, but regardless they were in a great mood. Scott and Eric's kids were at the show and they brought them out after the encores. After STT, Scott's kids came out and hugged him, which was pretty cool. I threw my hat up to Dean and he put it on! Got handshakes from him and Rob as well. It's hard to interact with Scott during the show- he seems to be really focusing, while Dean and Rob interact with the crowd much more. You know it's a great show when the security guards in front of the stage are rocking out as well. Off to JB tonight then PNC on Sun!
Thanks to Casper: Same setlist with 3 jams mixed in and the We Will Rock You teaser before Down.
Still Remains WAS amazing. Cinnamon is better live then on the album. Dancing Days and Pretty Penny suprisingly slowed the show down.
Not the best, but definitely a fun show overall. The crowd was more dead then usual for the Borgata. Robert and Dean pointed that out more then once. Not even close to sold out maybe due to Earl and the fact it's Labor Day weekend.
If STP wants a real ripping Jersey show, they should play Starland and not a casino so close to Philly!
Everyone in the band was dead on and on fire. They interacted great with one an other as well as the crowd. Robert was high fiving people in the middle of songs. No one messed up (to my knowledge). It seemed like Dean tried to bump Scott over a few times. It was funny.
I personally think they can drop 2 of the 3 jams and add at least one more song (probably even 2, but I'm not greedy). Something like Lounge Fly, Tumble, or maybe Coma.
As a real side, side note. I noticed that the new light bulb backdrop would throw in some little short sayings. For example, during Sex Type Thing, it said "Dumb Love Ain't No Love." The only SLDD reference!
Opening acts: Tab the Band was not so good and Cage the Elephant was pretty good.
