Thanks to STPaul: Really, really good show. I haven't posted since the last concert I went to in Reno in 2008, but I'm on here all the time. First off, everyone in the band looked psyched to be playing together. And playing new material made it more exciting, I think, for the band and for the crowd. There was dialogue between Scott and the guys between songs and they laughed a lot. Plus, Scott made zero lyrical errors. They played tight and he sang great. I had a bit of hard time understanding what he said between songs; he was slurring a bit, but nothing to get all crazy about. I can't emphasize how great the atmosphere was up there, Scott was even sticking his tongue out at people and letting girls come up to the mic, where he just smiled and acted a little shy even. For the sake of comparison, as well, I saw VR in Tucson in 2007 where Scott was all bones, but here he looked physically healthy. The only thing that made me a little sad, was to see Scott's glazed over eyes, so maybe he drank before the show or maybe it's the medication (I'm not here to judge, just reporting the facts).
The set list was the same as the last several shows. He made a joke between Hollywood Bitch and Between the Lines about the new record being all disco. Of course the retards behind me who called Scott, "Wayland", thought he was being serious. The band then started jamming to something that had a disco vibe (a hypocritical explanation, I know). They did their usual lineup on stage at the end; they were all very gracious and Scott put his hand over his heart to say thanks to everyone. Dean came out a few seconds after leaving to throw an STP frisbee with their autographs on it. I've seen these guys play a lot, and I left feeling awesome and knowing that I saw the best concert of my life..which is quite an accomplishment. I have pics and will post them tomorrow after I pass out!
